I read the first one. The plot reminded me just a little of 'Howl's Moving Castle', only not as weird.

I read a little bit of it, but I read the Magician of Samarkand first, and then I saw the film of 'Howl's Moving Castle'. The only similarity I found is that a woman goes on a quest after she's turned into an old woman, but 'Howl's Moving Castle' is a lot more complex.
