Description
The smell of burgers and steaks and chicken eventually brought the attentionto that round, black thing that stood on wheels, and so the girls went to
get themselves something to eat. When Ysabeau wanted to turn around to
get her share of the barbecue Naoko stopped her and made her wait. The
girl with the blue wig then went inside to get what she had brought with her,
and when she came back she handed a portrait of herself in a picture frame
to a wide-eyed girl.
"Don´t forget me," Naoko said.
"I never will, promised," Ysabeau replied.
How deeply the young Canadian felt for the girl from Tamarara Naoko could
not really measure, but when she noticed silent tears running down Ysabeau´s
cheeks she got a clue of what was going on in the blonde´s soul. Naoko then
gently wiped those tears away with her hand.
"Don´t be sad, little Ysa," Naoko said. "You have a crush on me, right? I knew
that since my unexpected first round victory. You have always been around,
I have noticed that. In the arena, in the gym, in restaurants. And wasn´t it
you whose shadow I saw in the door to the dressing room after the finals?"
The blonde girl nodded her head.
"I knew that! Are you stalking me, little girl? It seems I have a fan," Naoko
said and laughed. "That´s okay, Ysa. Now dry your tears, and let´s get
something to eat. I´m starving!"

As professional as Naoko might try to act with Ysa, deep inside she feels bad about all of this. She is conflicted, not knowing if she even deserves to be around true fighters.
Although o.o I don't know how to take that Ysabeau loved her, Naoko is too.. too Naoko >.> Who would like her.

I tried to express Naoko´s feelings in the first picture of the set,
when she was reluctant to accept Ysabeau´s invitation. Naoko
felt bad, she only wanted to get away from there, and especially
not see Anne again who she fought just before and was given
victory against her. But Ysabeau just forced her by begging to
attend the party. However, I didn´t go in depth with Naoko´s
feelings at that point.
She very well deserved to be around the fighters. I read her life
and the stories that you created around her. To provide for her
family she serves as punching bag for two minutes before she
even is allowed to fight back, and fight she does. If THAT´S not
the true spirit and heart of a fighter then I´ve never seen one.
When Naoko looks in a mirror, what does she see? If I understood
her well then in her own reflection she sees an ugly, obese girl who
isn´t even worth to breath. Well, and it´s just this humbleness,
her shyness, her insecurity about her own being, and her lack of
confidence that made Ysabeau feel so strongly towards her. Just
because she sees so much more in Naoko, and she truly is so much
more. Only thing is that Naoko doesn´t believe in herself and in her
own abilities.
One day maybe she will come out of her shell. It´s okay if she
remained the humble person that she is, but at least then she will
know who she is and what she is capable of. In the picture I let her
make the first insecure step towards this future by giving Ysabeau
a portrait of herself and accepting the young girl as a friend. Maybe
her first friend ever, and that would answer the question of who would
like her. Now she knows that there are people who will accept her as
the person she is, and that she can count on them if she needed
someone for help, or just to talk to.
Damn, I get wet eyes again. Your Naoko finishes me off EEEEEVERY
time. I better stop now before I can´t see my keyboard again.
I really wish from the bottom of my heart for Naoko to have a
better life somewhere in the future. And if you allowed me to use
her once in a while in wonderfully peaceful pictures, well, that would
be awesome.

More lovely work. I think I'd like to sort of second Kira here - I'd really have liked to get a better look at Alicia in that swimsuit you picked for her.
But excellent art, excellent story... what more can we ask for?

A real touching scene in a tropical location with many tough, lovely and talented fighting women. I'm glad this scene has played out far differently than what originally was thought to have happened, and Ysabeau really had her moment with Naoko.
My only lament was not being able to see Tamao fully in that bikini you've chosen for her. Definitely, that looked like a great choice from the very little I saw of her in it. ^^ I think she's the first to head back and run the BBQ to get everybody's food going. ^^ Who doesn't love a good barbecue??
