Yeah, well it was an old model I had from when I was younger. You take the model, prime it, and use chalk pastels to brush the colors over it in layers. If you would like to read about it, here's a great tutorial: [link]

You should make a tutorial on some of these guys, I just bought a bunch of unpainted stablemates bases and I'd like to paint or pastel them nicely like this ^^

Oh, chalk. Scraped them into powdered and applied them in layers.

try doing your blaze/whites in chalk first then go ontop with a very fine brush with the paint and feather out the marking ontop of the chalk to get a more realistic edge. go look at some close ups of blazes and such... you can usually see the hairs "fanning out". might help.

Yeah, I heard of using a tooth brush, putting your color of acrylic on it, and snapping/flicking the bristols.

Oooh I've done that with pottery before! Maybe I'll give it a try, it would have to be really fine though since it's another stablemate. Can't wait to see the next one you started!

i think it looks awesome! are you using acrylics for the white? i've heard you have to water them down a lot and then just put layer after layer of VERY watery white paint (so no greys or anything, just white).

Thanks! Yeah acrylics. Ok I will try that next time, even though I did have it fairly watered down, but will water down even more!
