Yes, I'm glad you took this picture and posted it, one of the greatest artifacts we've got and preserve of the Greatest Generation are these grand-old battleships. For me and my state, we've got the USS North Carolina, BB-55, in Wilmington Harbor as our state's big World War II memorial.
The current fight against militant extremism is just as big a deal was WW2 was. 9-11 was the Pearl Harbor of this day and age, and the start of very long and drawn out fight to bring to justice those who believe killing innocents is the way to salvation, when it is NOT.

At this same park, something the photographer missed or couldn't get a picture of is the Gato class submarine behind the battleship, USS Drum

Ah, yes--a grand old South Dakota class---likely the finest treaty battleship of them all. Nice picture!
Let us never forget why they were built, and the fight for freedom...I salute them, and their crews.
