Description The last picture of the year I hope you like it. Starting this picture I remembered why I normally don't draw buildings. I always have problems with it. To be honest several times I was very close to abandon it and never look at it again, but I didn't want unfinished work in my gallery.

This is a character of a novel I've written twelve years ago. She is a woman who was betrayed by humans and now she seeks revenge. In the end she is beaten in a huge battle (here ).

Details: here

WIP: here

size: approx. 56 cm X 40 cm
tools: pencils (HB, H, 2B, 3B, 8B), tortillon, tissue
duration: months

This is some kind of remake of this picture .

Unfortunately it got a bit wrinkled The paper wasn't strong enough for so many details.

Thank you I really don't know when it's best to finish. I just do it once I think it would become worse if I draw a bit more. Or as soon as I can't see the picture anymore without wanting to run away screaming

For the record, I don't see any wrinkles. The picture's flawless.

The attention to detail is amazing here, and to draw it all out by hand utterly floors me. The pillars, the floor tiles, the braziers and fire pits, the throne and queen herself, and the wall and windows are all incredible. Not only do they all add to the regal feeling of the scene, but it all fits. Nothing feels out of place or overdone to the point of being tacky or crowded, but instead it all looks genuine and utterly ancient. I can imagine turning a corner or opening a door and seeing that, and everything, right down to the lighting and play of the shadows, another excellent detail with pencil and paper, looks completely real.

So many small details that add to how real it looks, but I'll end off by saying it's an outstanding work of art. Well done!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Svera In reply to Hunkapi [2010-12-27 18:07:08 +0000 UTC]

Hunkapi In reply to Svera [2010-12-28 17:40:39 +0000 UTC]

Svera In reply to Hunkapi [2010-12-28 18:16:11 +0000 UTC]
