The Ubergirl movie was always going to be the biggest superhero blockbuster of the year, that was never in question. The hype train had been building ever since the movie was officially confirmed, and had only grown with every casting announcement and leaked photo taken on set. Trailers, posters, speculation about sequels, rumours that the director had arranged for the main cast to see a professional hypnotist to help research for the scenes where the villainous Empress used her abilities to control the minds of the heroines, the expected ranges of merchandise, all of it had raised the collective excitement level to pretty much a fever pitch. Onpyh even launched a competition to give a handful of lucky winners a chance to be among the very first to see the finished product, before even professional movie reviewers and big celebrities, in an all-expenses-paid evening stay at Jupiter City's fanciest hotel for the movie's unofficial launch afterparty, where those few lucky fans would be able to mingle with the cast and crew definitely helped.
You hadn't been among those lucky few to win that competition. Dangit.

Then, on the eve of the movie's official premier on Valentine's Day, a miracle happened; a last-minute sweepstake, with precisely one ticket on offer, for the very next day. You stumbled across the raffle by accident and, fuelled by pure desperation, entered with less than an hour until the raffle's midnight deadline. Less than an hour later, your phone pinged an email alert, and when you opened it to check, your screen proudly displayed a code promising free admission for one to the Ubergirl midnight premier.
Within moments, you saw hundreds of people on FaceSpace offering literally thousands of dollars for the code.
Were you really a committed enough fan to pass up that kind of profit to see a movie and maybe get a chance to hang out with some of the cast?
Hell yes.

Doutzen Kroes as the titular heroine's love interest Aella had been a particularly controversial casting choice - she was mainly known for her modelling, after all, and while it was important for the most beautiful of all the Amazons to be gorgeous, most fans agreed that it was even more important that she was actually able to act the role well. Doutzen had a few acting credits under her belt, but nobody was sure if she'd be able to do such a complex and integral character justice...well, nobody was sure until they saw the movie, anyway.
While general opinion among the handful of reviewers from advance preview screenings still held the movie's lead, Katherine McNamara, as the highlight of the film, delivering an Ubergirl who was full of heart and fun, the bulk of reviews agreed that Doutzen was brilliant as Aella.
Regardless, there was already a lot of fanart of her in the Amazon Arrow costume...

After posing for some photographs with the rest of the main cast, and stopping to chat to a few journalists, there weren't a whole lot of other people left outside the theatre when Doutzen started to head in. Quite simply, it was now or never; once she sat for the movie, you'd never be able to get her alone to talk!
Sure, you hadn't really thought it through, but you knew you just had to speak to her. An autograph, a selfie, something...
Without even totally realising what you were doing, you called out to her, jogging over towards her.
She turned, looking curiously at you, and...
Wow.
It took a moment just to gather your thoughts.

So, I know, it's been a while. I had my little burnout a few weeks back, and haven't really done anything with RPs ever since. I sincerely apologise to everyone with whom I was mid-RP at the time. I'm not promising anything, but if anyone (including me!) was looking to get back into the swing of things, I would strongly recommend this'un
As a few of you know, I dedicate (probably) way too much time and thought to picking celebrities to fill the role of characters. Like, in an ideal world, if I was making a movie and had unlimited resources, the actress I'd pick for the role. Since most characters tend to look different depending on who's rendered/drawn them and, obviously, renders/drawings don't have sound, I guess it helps, for when I'm reading, to have a specific voice and face and stuff in my head for each character.
Over the last year or so, Aella has become a pretty significant part of Ubergirl's life, and...well, Doutzen's been my first choice for a while. She's got the whole 'totally frigging gorgeous' thing working for her, her Dutch accent is cute and just 'other' enough to work for an Amazon, and what little I've seen of her acting has been decent. I haven't seen enough of her acting work to decisively say she's perfect for the role, but she's the best option I've got so far
... And don't even try to tell me you don't want to see her and Katherine McNamara sharing onscreen kisses and cuddles and hypnosis encounters in superhero outfits. Because we all know you'd be lying. Fibs break Baby Jesus' ribs.

A sequel, of sorts, to ...if anyone wants to hop in on there, or to continue any ongoing RP threads already started over there, then by all means, go for it!
