Made from multiple layers of 7-9 oz leather. Stitched by hand with nylon thread.More pics:

There's a chain in the US called Tandy Leather. (If you're old enough, you may remember Tandy computers. It's the same company....but now... they sell bits of animals rather than computer parts....)
Anyway, you should be able to find one within a couple hours of wherever you are, and the staff is always great. I've never had a question so weird that they couldn't answer it without batting an eye. You can check out there website to get an idea on prices.
