Description
The IAKAL is a fighter, multirole, for coverage of medium and large-sized ships .
Designed to intercept the heavy bombers or the enemy fighter, was born with a weapons system that includes the "Xayei" twin light autocannon and only two light missiles . Over time, looking for a space supremacy with enemy fighters were fitted with two "Hiderky" twin light blaster.
After the attack on Ahemait V, where, despite the victory, many ships were destroyed or heavily damaged, and the cause was a short distance of engagement requiredΒ which allowed the bombers to arrive at firing range, the project was modernized by adding a "Archer" rocket launcher, capable of firing three rockets volley at time (with a magazine of 18 rockets) for long-distance interceptions.
The latest versions, in order of time, was provided of FTL jump drive within one light years away.
Some versions (pictured), replace the light missiles with four medium plasma missiles for attacks in depth, in situations where needed a pre-emptive strike.

Probably ... the original design is 30 years old (around 83/84), and the year before, I had just discovered BSG, through a VHS, during a holiday in my uncle's house in Germany.
Back in Italy, after a few months began the original series.
So yes, this fighter owes much to BSG ...

My comp is old (6 years) so ram not enough.
But I find a render engine good and fast (Keyshot) so when have more time to spend, try rendering.
