Jade and Umeko's families have always been close, resulting in a humble, happy upbringing of living in the jungles and ruins of what was formerly home to an ancient lamia empire, which had joint rulership between a massive, walled-in city, and the surrounding jungles. As the next in line of a rare breed of "royal" lamia, they have inherited the title of "Princess" from their mothers, along with a hypnotic poison in their saliva that most other lamia would never have heard of.

After growing up, the two decided that they would become proper queens- by finding their mates in the world, and then having their ceremony in the ruins of the old kingdom. Inspired by the stories passed down from their families, the two women vowed to make something great of the ruined empire once again.

Jade grew up in the jungles around the ruins, growing into a confident, strong young woman who's more prone to taking what she wants as opposed to asking for it. Though she's trained as a warrior and far more athletic than Umeko is, she still has an eye for jewelry and gemstones. Though Jade certainly has an interest in attracting a suitable mate, she's far more interested in becoming queen than romance, believing that holding her wedding in the kingdom's ruins will awaken an even greater power within herself and Umeko.
