Description
Let this be my writing to you. But instead of words I use strokes of Graphite.ΒHere to say never look down or back down, no lion ever did. If you have flaws overlook them, your strengths are larger. You are the King of Beasts.
A4 Paper, Mechanical pencils, HB,4B,6B,8B,Charcoal.
Took me a little more than 2 weeks to complete as I didn't have time for longer sittings.
All in all, im proud of it.

Shading/Highlighting-Β Β
And your texture is significantly better in this! I love that I can see little strands of hair in each chunk of fur, and the direction of all the short strokes of fur on the face. The highlights in the eye is gorgeous as well. If I had to fix anything, it would be how you separate the hair. While the visibility of the hair strands are applaudable, the chunks are a little unrealistic. As a human drawer, I can understand how hard it would be to master the separation of fur, it's a developed skill that my wolf artist friend has (and that I don't haveΒ Β ). Β But this is a great piece overall and your development as an artist is clearly visible. Keep it upΒ Β

I sense a strong sense of pride and strength drawing this piece. I love the movement in the mane, makes the picture tell what is happening and drags us in. In The face you did excellent!! :3

I like the fact it's not looking straight at us for a change. Really nice drawing. I can almost feel the warm breeze from the savanna.

Β It looks so amazing! You did a great job with his head, It's very realistic and detailed. I really like the way You did fur here. I think that the bottom part of the picture is very simpleΒ comparing to the rest of drawing. The shoulder looks like it was totally other structure. The drawing would look perfect if You either add a texture to the body or crop the image to make a portrait of lion, with head and mane and nothing more!

You have many good drawings in your galley. I like the rough way you draw ... rough yet realistic.
The lion is majestic and the coarse imagery reinforces his strength. ... But my opinion is that the picture would do better with some background or shading. the picture does not look quite finished in my eyes.

Thanks so much for your feedback. Yes the drawing could have a different dimension if it had a background.
Yet there was something about it that expressed its completion. I do the eyes in the end and I deem it complete when life is expressed in its eyes. When it has vision of it own is when I stop the process and let it thrive. But I shall think about what you said for me upcoming drawings.
