Description HOW TO PAINT PEOPLE WITH CRAPPY ASS GIMP!
okay, so it's not really explained and in one picture I accidentally saved it over another step, so here's a basic "tutorial" I guess you could could say.
1:I found a picture I really liked (I love her) and basically drew from the picture.
2: Step to is all about finding your general shading, you don't need to worry about color just yet.
3: As it so happens I use around a three color palette for the face, eyes, and lips, in most pictures. That way nothings overly saturated or too pale. The picture I have has a blue undertone, so taking in her pale skin, I put down all of my colors and add an equivalent amount of blue to my original colors. After laying all of this down, I use a hard brush to get what I want from the face, taking into account her facial structure, the lighting, basically all of the obvious stuff.
4. This is where I use a soft brush to smudge them together (as I also did on the neck) here, I decided to work with the lights because it seemed to bland, I didn't add any color NOT on my palette. the color in her cheeks, and on her eyelids can be simply done with a soft brush on either color, soft light, or overlay.
5. this is where I introduce her piercings, rounded ones, in particular are easy, you just make a grey dot and build white in the middle, (to add dimension I added blues)
6. six, is kind of just there, but what I do when creating hair is make a base for it to lye. Taking a smudge brush, I blend out her rainbow hair.
7.after the base is applied you make strands of hair the same color as your base, from the bottom, slowly leading to the top.
8 just showed you I finished her head XD
