Description That’s right, it said Hey! We almost fell on the floor in shock. Lil obviously wasn’t quite as astounded as me; with all the weird occurrences so far she probably wasn’t that surprised.
“Well, hey!” she replied, “what’s up?”
“Hop on my back,” the pony said to us, “I’ll take you where you wanna go!”
“How do you know where – “ I began.
“Okay!” said Lil as she jumped on.
Fine, I thought to myself, why not, and jumped on myself behind Lil.
“What’s your name?” I asked
“Magic”

How appropriate I thought. I decided to just go with it; I mean what’s the worst that could happen, right? No point fretting now we’re here, I figured.
Magic cantered his way out of the forest, down a dirt road, towards a little village. I say village, but it wasn’t the sort of village that you’re probably thinking of!

There were little smurf like characters darting about the place; I think we even spotted a unicorn! We noticed some children playing double-dutch further down in the middle of the cute little brick road we were on. We hopped off Magic and thanked him.
“Just whistle if you need anything,” he said to us.
We ran over to the kids and joined in their game. It was such good fun and by then end of it we all became friends! I miss them!
As we were all stood around having a laugh and what not I saw Lil was a little pre-occupied gazing out into the distance.

“Look,” she said pointing at a small house at the top of the hill.
“It’s made out of sweets!” our new friend Tilly, yelled out in excitement. She was only about four or five, filled with enthusiasm, so cute; probably my favorite of the people, and creatures, we met that day.
“Shut up Til,” said one of the other kids, butting in; they turned to Lil and me, “You don’t wanna go there,” he said, “there are nasty people up there. And they captured our buddies – “
“Hansel and Gretel?” Lil interrupted.
“How do you know?”
“She’s a psychic,” I told them. “Lets go!” I said turning to Lil.
“For sure!” she said with a mischievous grin on her face.
“Thanks for everything,” we yelled as we ran off to find Magic. We could hear them shout no in the background.

We gave a whistle and Magic came running. We had him take us up the hill towards the mysterious cottage lurking in the distance. He was reluctant at first but we persuaded him. Lil and I were fascinated with the idea of going up to the house of candy and seeing Hansel and Gretel! So anyway, we arrived at the gate and dismounted from our trusty companion. We looked back but it was dark and the village was nowhere to be seen. I looked back at the cottage and all the mini gingerbread men, who made up the majority of the house, appeared to be dancing. It was a bit freaky. It felt as though we were on an island and all that was on it was us and the cottage. All around me I began to see bright waves of colors, sparkling stars, tiny trippy birds flittering around and God knows what else! Truly psychedelic.

Anyhow, once again Magic wandered off and Lil and I strolled on into the cottage, eating bits and pieces as we went. It was delicious! As we entered we heard voices coming from a room in the back of the house. We had to investigate! I was a bit apprehensive, I didn’t know the story that well but I knew the witch was someone not to be messed with. We found the legendary Hansel and Gretel in the dining room, surprisingly enough; they had rope around their wrists securing them to the chairs. They were arguing about something as we came in, probably over who’s idea it was that got them into the situation in the first place, and seemed rather surprised to see us (I would have been too!) yet grateful, nonetheless. We untied them and, sort of, introduced ourselves – we basically just told them our names. We were in the middle of deciding what to do, where to go, how to get out, that sort of thing when we were disrupted by the sound of the witch returning to her banquet.

“Crap!” said Lil, “Oh shit!”
“Cum’on,” I said and ran through a side door in the corner I had spotted previously; the others followed behind me. It lead into a room full of the best kinds of sweets and treats you could imagine! I would have remained there the rest of the day if we weren’t in such a hurry to escape from the evil witch! We ran about the house like crazy fools, in one door, out the other, from room to room unable to find an exit. The witch was going mad, about two rooms behind us at all times. I must admit, I quite enjoyed the adrenaline rush!  We hid behind a large sofa, hearts racing, praying that she wouldn’t see us when she came through. She was oblivious. She ran through, skatty as ever, screaming her head off, “I’ll catch you! Don’t you worry!” We weren’t worried after that. What an idiot! We ended up eating away at the walls; it was a sort of cookies and marshmallow – really tasty! We gnawed and we gnawed and ended up feeling slightly queasy. Well, we munched away and managed to make a small opening in the wall and scrambled our way out. As soon as we were out we ran as fast as our little legs could carry us away from the cottage, as tasty as it was, and only when we were about half way back to the village we remembered Magic, bless. I’m not a great whistler as it is so luckily Lil knew how to put her fingers in the side of her mouth and whistle exceptionally loud. Sure enough, Magic galloped down the hill and came to an abrupt halt in front of us. We let Hansel and Gretel ride him back to the village, where we stopped for a quick cup of tea, before Magic kindly took us back to where the adventure had all began. We said our goodbyes and off he went. We looked up and saw a sort of hole where light shone down through.

“Must be morning,” I said.
“Christ!” responded Lil.
I could just about reach the edge of the hole standing on my tip toes. Lil’s a bit shorter than I am so I gave her a leg up and she pulled herself up and through, out into the open again; I followed after her. We brushed ourselves off and headed for Borris.
On our way home we stopped at a road-side café for a good old cuppa tea, some biccies and chat.
“Good trip?” asked Lil.
“Indeed it was,” I replied, “one of our best adventures yet.”
“I knew you’d like it,” she told me.
“It will make one hell of a story” I said.
