Turn around so that you won’t have to feel me deceiving

Once I was strong enough to face my life

Had the strength to embrace the vice

Of love

But looking back at the many ways I’ve wronged you

Remembering makes me have a different view

On our love

Too many memories floating my mind

Vivid recollections making me wish to be blind

To our love

How can you ask me to stay and not break your heart?

When all I do is hurting you by playing a part

In our love

Sometimes love is not enough to carry on

I tried to go on and be strong

For our love

Still there comes a time when you have to admit

To yourself that you’re maybe not being able to fit

There was only one path of finding a solution

For a short time I found my absolution

Yet love led me to an epiphany

The person I was hurting was no longer me

You will be better off alone

Hopefully you will be able to condone

Maybe one day I will learn to love myself

Then I’m going to pick up the book from the shelf
