What's that about sandals (caligo)? 8D

Oh, I love Latin class... But I still don't know what 'amplexus' is. ~m~

hmm i didn't think it meant sandals...the back of my book said darkness ahah. and amplexus means surrounding, so surrounding darkness.

and yess, i [did] love latin, but this year i had a new teacher and she kinda ruined it for me =[

Caligula got his name from them. His father Germanicus (a general) took him on various army escapades, and the soldiers made fun of poor little Gaius for wearing his caligae, or "little sandals." So one of the most feared and hated emperors ever was "Little sandal man."

So your title means surrounded by sandals, :V. Well, the more you know.

Umbra means shadow or ghost if that helps.

yeah but caligae is feminine and caligo is masculine so they're two different words with different meanings

Not if caligo is under a different case, :V. Like Dative (unsure) or Ablative (possibly). I don't remember the cases, and I never have, :V.

but it's not it's a nominative, as is caligae...you can google it haha
the different cases of caligae would be ae, arum, is, as, is

It's the middle of summer, and I learned about sandals cause of a Roman Leader project first semester, give me some lenience here, :b.
