In an annex of an old abandoned manor a witch lived. She made potions and wrote spells on scrolls for selling these to the local people and dreamed of becoming famous one day by making some really powerful magic essence. She experimented a lot with plants, mushrooms, animals and minerals, changed proportions and conditions of ingredients and noted everything with a piece of coal on the manor’s walls and floor, because paper was very expensive those days and couldn’t be wasted on drafts. Once she had a dream: in midnight she throws into her caldron a raven feather, two badiane “stars”, a handful of ripe blackberries, a spoon of dust of a noble vampire bat’s wing, a cup of vinegar and a white rabbit - and after a while everybody knows her name and glorifies her. She had decided it might be a kind of love potion with no side-effects and started to prepare ingredients as soon as she woke up. She did everything she saw in her dream, it was really hard to throw an alive rabbit in the boiling water but people made much more awful things for becoming famous so she did it. But six minutes later something dark and furry jumped out of the caldron right to her arms. It was the same rabbit but colored in black and dressed so elegant! Later she understood that the rabbit wasn’t an ingredient and the potion was actually a magical dye making anyone’s view look like aristocrat. So if you have no dress for any meeting you can put your sleepwear on, take a bath with the potion and go out. She called this dye “elegant black” and after some other researches in this area became the most famous person in fashion and magical textile production. The rabbit was named Darkness and it seems like it had also got an endless life like a bonus from that magical experiment.
