I have a "Long distance" relationship with my girlfriend also...but she only lives 40 minutes away, and we see each other about once a month. Still, I know/can imagine how much it hurts sometimes. If you ever want to talk to me, shoot me a note

This is the sweetest thing. All of my feels and heart go out to you on this. I know, very well this feeling. and this is just, perfect. My family does not approve of my relationship either, and I was even told I was not allowed to have him at my house as long as i lived with my parents, but he is the sweetest, and he gets me through everything, just like he has for over 5 years. <3 so i say again... this is perfect and the sweetest thing ive ever seen on this site <3

I can somehow relate to this.
My girlfriend and I live in different countries, she in America and I in Finland, so we are in a long distance relationship. We have been together for about five months, but we have known each other for three years and so far we have not been able to meet in person... But we are trying to make that happen at some point ^^Β Though my girlfriend and I have some difficulties with communicating, for we need an internet access because sending text messages or calling on the phone would cost too much, plus the time difference causes some trouble, we love and support each other.Β
I agree it is terrible when the person you love the most is not near you when you most need them...I have been there a few times myself, so I know how it feels...Β
My mother knows about our relationship and she is fine with it, but I do not dare to tell my father who seems to be rather homophobic... He acts the same as your family, and I agree it is terrible for them to do so. You are their daughter no matter your sexual orientation, and they should and most likely do love you the way you are, but perhaps it takes some time for them to get used to this idea of you having a girlfriend...?Β

Yes, so we are ^^' Uhm, we actually met on iScribble, on an invader ZiM board. It was my first night in the campus of college and I was basically stuck in my room (the lock was broken), while my roommate was outside at a party and there was really no one to help me open the door... So I was telling everyone who was online on the board about me getting a bit scared and she was the only one who ended up talking to me ^^' Soon we decided to go on flockdraw to mess around and draw. the door opened eventually and I was free, but that is how we became friends and from that day on we kept meeting on iScribble and talking, until one day we decided to get Skype and actually speak to each other... That is..How it started, I guess? ^^ Heh.Β
