Splatter and Dodge helped by shunting the scaffolds into place where they were needed. The work was tedious and they were the only engines available for the job.

"Why can't the steamies do this? This is their works after all!" Dodge complained.

"It's only natural we help them refurbish theirs. We owe them." Sidney said as he idled alongside them "Remember when they helped us rebuild our diesel works?"

"Yeah, well..." Dodge began, struggling to come up with a rebuttal to Sidney's argument. He was so cross that he wasn't looking where he was going, biffing into a line of trucks.

"Watch out, Dodge!" Splatter exclaimed. Dodge screeched to a stop alongside his twin, but it was too late. The front truck came off the rails and smashed into a gantry for one of the massive hoists.

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!! IT'S GOING TO FALL!!!!!" Exclaimed a workman, and the men inside scrambled to safety.

"Hey, where are you going!!? Get back here!!" Dodge exclaimed to his and his twin's drivers. Then, with a terrible groan of metal under stress, the gantry toppled to the ground with a terrible crash, right on top of Splatter and Dodge, and all either of them saw was black.
