For a while it didn't, but all the same there was a lingering shadow of doubt which cast itself over Jim and his accursed jinx. Hence, when the railway recieved a consignment of gunpowder and Jim was the only available engine, he was reluctant to send him.

"I don't like it! What if something goes wrong?" Jim said, worriedly.

"Dont' worry. We haven't had a minor mishap for months!" Soothed his driver. "You'll be fine! As long as we're safe and careful, nothing will go wrong!"

"I hope you're right." Puffed Jim, thoughtfully.
