Description
Teabringers are housecat-sized deities of various sizes, shapes, and flavors who bring the spirit of tea alive!
The act of brewing tea is celebrated in many countries alike because of the leaves' unique flavor blends, healing properties, and even associations to a more spiritual and psychic nature. Little do most people know, however, that these traits for tea are true, and it is because of Teabringers that this is so!
These beings are spirits of the very tea that is grown, mixed and brewed around the world. These creatures' bodies resemble a mix of canine and feline, with the face and front paws holding most similar to larger felinic features.
There are endless combinations of tea blends, and as such, there are endless possibilities for the design and theme of a Teabringer. Bolder flavor-based bringers often have a stronger and bigger build, whereas those who represent quieter or smoother blends are smaller and more rounded (however, this is just on average. There are exceptions of course!).
Each Teabringer has an exceptional botanical magic, and is respected for their growing of new herbs (and in turn, new bringers!). With this magic, they can utilize any plant -- yes, even the smelliest or most poisonous -- and create a new mixture for others to consume or for "birthing" a new Teabringer. Although, the bringers that choose to utilize less appetizing plants and blends are usually more malicious and uncommon than those who create more appealing mixes.
Even more rare than just a toxic or blend, however, is a blend that includes fungi, since fungi is often more difficult to grow and sustain. This species' magic is strong in the realm of plants, but outside of that their magic is limited. They can float, become invisible, use telekinesis and telepathy, and even read the future at times. The latter ability will leave a bringer pretty weak, though, and one will need to rest for up to a day or two afterward!
Now, it is often noticed that every Teabringer has a bell somewhere on or near them. This bell can be of any size, shape, or color, but its purpose remains the same across the species. A Teabringer's bell is its source of magic and life. If a bell is lost for an extended period of time, the bringer will then begin to fade. The amount of time from the bell escaping the bringer's magic radius to until they start to fade depends on the individual. When a Teabringer begins to fade, they do so quite literally. Their colors will dull, they will become lethargic and melancholy, and they will eventually turn to dust. From this dust, though, a hearty plant will grow anew, keeping their energy in the circle of life.
