They aren't no slouch at towing either. I was watching an old episode of Holmes On Homes from 2004 and one of the contractors had a huge utility trailer twice the size of the van hooked up to it.

Honestly, I like these. I've ridden in the Olds version, but that was back when Oldsmobile was still actively making cars. GM rarely lets their designers have fun and design something quirky. Probably because every time GM does something that isn't mainstream it fails in the marketplace hard (Chevy Corvair, Boattail Riviera, the Dustbuster minivans seen here). Of course 'fails' by GM standards of the '60s is defined as 'still sold more than AMC and probably Chrysler too.' But it led to an atmosphere where people didn't take risks.
