Description 1956 Clipper Super Panama

For a short time in 1956, Clipper became its own marque separate from Packard as James Nance felt the cheaper Clippers were diluting the image of the Packard brand as a producer of luxury cars.Β  Sales tanked, dealers revolted, and Packard changed their mind halfway through the year, even going as far as providing Packard badges to dealers to place onto previously built cars.

I see what you mean.Β  Other cars of the era reached for the sky in the back while this one slopes down in the rear like a '96 Ford Taurus:
