What made this '68 GT so rare?

The title is me being facetious towards the placard in front of the car - it's one of 288 with this particular trim code.

Which still makes it one of how many thousands of red 1968 Mustang notchbacks?

Ok, I get it. I didn't see anything really special about it. Other than the fact that it's a real nice looking '68 GT. I had two of them, long ago. One was a Coupe, 390 4v, automatic, Hunter Green with a gold C Stripe, My father bought it new, and I inherited it. The other was a '68 fastback, 390 4v, 4 Speed. It was a problem child. Never did run right, ended up giving it away. Wish I had either of them now.

I wish you had them back too - especially the notchback.

I've got two Mustangs ('08 GT & '82 GLX) myself.

Funny, I forgot to mention that I currently own an '05 V6 Convertible. I like it a lot, but still long for the good old stangs.

Sweet ride - I just checked out the pics in your gallery.  Digging that turquoise '69 Mach 1 also.

Thanks. Yeah, that '69 was a fluke. First and last time I've seen it in the area.
