Personality: Once a bright and shining scientist, Dr. Arco was stripped of all her dignity after attempting the unthinkable: reviving a being from Black Star’s dawn. While the code of conduct was to respect the deceased, Arco thought otherwise and decided to go against it anyways. This lead her to a downward spiral, throwing away her virtues and ethics in the name of knowledge and power. Now she stands on top an army with the grand idea of taking out all of Black Star.
Strengths: Smart, Always one step ahead, Passionate, Merciful
Weaknesses: Bitter, Lost her way, Too Determined, Stubborn, Refuses to lose
Backstory: No one knows where Chroma came from or how Dr. Arco stumbled upon her. The story Arco gives, if she ever does, was that during an expedition with fellow Etherian scientists, they stumbled upon a never before seen crypt with the embalmed corpse of what looked like a Raccoon. This corpse was taken back for study and was subjected to many types of experimentation. Taking various grafts of skin, fire and blood samples, the results were quite mixed and concerning at best. There was nothing in the Etherian database that could identify this mystery Raccoon. It was this mystery and potential that drew Dr. Arco to her.
Dr. Arco began a plan, a plan to isolate Chroma from the rest of the scientists and attempt the unthinkable. To revive her.
Through careful conversation and convincing, Dr. Arco was able to take Chroma to her personal lab and began long nights of experimentation, all for the goal of seeing her eyes open and assess the world they lived in. After days of none stop experiments, the doctor had finally done it. After seemingly all hope was lost, Arco attempted in a last ditch effort to revive Chroma by committing one of the three taboos. In the dead of night, Dr. Arco traveled to the outskirts; she slipped passed many shady individuals from solicit sellers to Technomancers, until she was far enough away to find it. The Eden Forest.
The Eden Forest surrounded the very outskirt of Black Star, completely star white trees in contrast of the inky black of the sky. Even in the nothingness the trees nearly seemed to glow, and it inhabitants a crystalline pink.
The three taboos were simple. Do not love an Elemental, Do not approach an Elemental, and Do not harm an Elemental. Well, Arco was about to break two of those. Finding one farthest away from any other of it’s kind, Arco committed a crime with shaking hands. She struck down and killed an Elemental in cold blood. Dragging it’s body back to her lab, she set up a transfusion between the two. It is said that Elemental blood could revive even the decayed back to life, so it was time to see if that was true. Hooking up the Elemental to Chroma, Arco began a transfusion and watched intently, taking level readings and documenting any spiked activity in Chroma’s neural network. However before Arco can declare that she’s given up. Chroma opened her eyes.
Arco was ecstatic. She had a list of question at the ready after assessing Chroma’s cognitive and responsive actions. After getting all the answers she wanted, Arco returned to the Etherian labs to relay the news. However instead of being praised and congratulated, she was reprimanded and suspended from the Etherian science guild. Reviving Chroma was not on their agenda it seemed. The bitter Arco trekked her way back to her lab, sulking near her console as she decided to dedicate herself to her work on Black Star’s history and make up.
Chroma observed the doctor as Arco made breakthrough after breakthrough, unable to tell anyone due to no longer being in the committee. However there was one thing that Arco realized that no other Etherian scientist has. It was no surprise that many of the scientists knew that Chrono was hurting Black Star’s interior structure and has urged the council numerous times to cease the use of it to no avail. But what Arco figured out ran much deeper than this. Black Star itself was crumbling due to it’s own existence. Through the soil samples, the history she could find, even an autopsy of the Elemental she used. It all pointed to the unnatural nature of Black Star itself. Black Star wasn’t a natural occurring universe, it had no place among the multiverse, and because of that it was slowly deteriorating as well as infecting other worlds due to the ‘Anomalys’ that were spawned from Black Star’s creation.
Arco did the only thing she thought she could do. She tried to approach the council and stood in front of them both and the science committee to explain her findings and reasons. However they turned her away, refusing to hear her out. They claimed her to have been lost to her research. With no other studies besides her, how could she be so sure of Black Star’s state? This was the final nail in the coffin for Arco. If no one would heed her or lend her a hand, then she’ll make her own help.
Getting her own army of volunteer subjects, Arco did what she attempted with Chroma previously. Throwing away her virtues and ethics, she began slaughtering dozens of Elementals for their blood, elevating normal Mobians into super soldiers. The first Mobian she attempted it on was named Panzer, a scrawny Gecko who she elevated into a power house. Again and again did she attempt this transfusions with many citizens of Black Star. Although many did not survive the process, there were several who could say otherwise. Energized and indebted to Arco, she decided that she and her army, with Chroma and Panzer as her second in commands, would do what the Council refuses. To erase Black Star from existence and fix the Multiverse for good.
Fun Facts: Dr. Arco constantly has her spider pack on her, providing her robot legs that she can use to multi task with, or if she’s incredibly lazy, she can use them to transport her places without the need of her legs.
