This poor young gull had a broken leg, but he still took off fine and landed well. We almost had him to bring to rehabilitation, but he flew off, so I hope he'll be okay. He was very cold that day, and tired and in pain. I was about a foot away from him when I took this, and he was very nervous but really needed a rest.Related content

I was just glad that someone else stopped to help. Makes me feel better about people. She made him nervous, though, and he flew off just as she was calling the bird rehab. He was so beautiful, I feel bad for not being able to help him.

He was shivering, the poor thing. I hope he found somewhere nice to rest and get better.
