Description The direction of the eye
So misleading
The defection of the soul
Nauseously quick
I don't question
Our existence
I just question
Our modern needs

-Pearl Jam

That's really amazing work. And also one of my top 10 PJ songs! I'm def. going to order this ASAP. I was wondering if you would be opposed to me using this for my upcoming sleeve? It would flow perfectly to what has been planned already... perfect placement for my forearm.

Rock on.

Excellent... Graceful. It's amazing to see what effect you get when you use a Pilot pen.

Good to see another being inspired by Pearl Jam.

Yes, I reposted it because recently I posted a new painting and I was surprised that there were people watching me who did not know I created traditional artwork too. Yes, I thought that about your gaia sculpture, we seem to like the same style of flowing lines.

And the eye is a similarity too. I love flowing lines and am a big Art Nouveau fan. The shortest distance between two points is often fairly dull...

We have a fondness of Art Nouveau in common, I absolutely LOVE most of the designs from that era, it was full of "functional art" in the form of furniture, architecture and housewares. I also have a fondness for Art Deco, because of it's geometric simplicity.

ooh, another one i missed...

i like these! reminds me of some art work my mother showed me that she'd done while in high school...but yours are much more finished looking, as hers were literally just doodles to waste time in class...

Sya In reply to avadon [2004-09-22 20:51:38 +0000 UTC]

This was really just an experiment. I didn't have any clue where it was going when I started it. I never used pen and ink before and I was trying out some nifty pens I bought at the store.

I have since done more work that ihas more detail. I did like the curving and flowing lines of this though, and I have incorporated that style into my other more recent works!

Thanks for your comments, hun!

You are most welcome...

Have you read 'The Da Vinci Code' by Dan Brown? In this drawing you have used the 5 petal rose- a symbol of the pentacle used by Da Vinci in many of his art pieces, who, BTW was a Grand Master of a secret society. Apparently he used many symbols of the old Nature worshippers. The book reveals so much about art that is taught in fine art history classes today that those who have never been miss the absolute knowledge that is behind art.

I'm so pleased I could inspire someone else to read such a fine piece of mystery. I do believe you'll get a lot out of it especially since you're of feminine persuasion.

Do you know anything about the movie? I've been tempted to rent it, but I'm afraid my husband will find it boring and I'll end up watching it alone. Which, I guess, isn't a bad thing neccessarily.
