The designs were a bit meh...but I at least wish they kept the voices.

I am going to tell you that Xiaolin Chronicles is simply a foreign (or French, in this case) re-interpretation of an American property, much like Powerpuff Girls Z and Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers. The changes done to this show are simply because of this fact and not due to legal reasons. What do you think, folks?

Xiaolin Chronicles was like a bad fanfiction in my opinion. I can see why it didn't continue.

Yeah. One big reason is that hey went all Canada on this show so VA’s had to be replaced. Then there’s the fact that Warner Bros. partially owns the rights to the original show (the original names to the Shen Gong Wu unfortunately).

The reason why Jack has a leotard:
-Christy Hui hates him
-ironically Christy knew he was her fav villain
-so thats a respond towards Jack Spicer's fangirls
-Christy wants all of her animators to save money on animation.
-provides less material and more fanservice=modest outfits are a waste of money and fabric

Jack lost his trenchcoat because they couldn't render it in the cheapy stiff CG they used for the Showdowns. Same with Kimiko's robes getting tweaked so they're more pants like looking like the other guys.

Now, I don't mind the new looks and voice actors...
But from what I watched so far, the humor sucks (and rather gross), Dojo...YELLOW?! WTH dude?! I know green is not a creative color (if you get my drift), but Dojo was creative enough to rock that color! Not to mention his obsession with Master Fung was rather...disturbing.
Also, I LOVE Ping Pong, he's ABSOLUTELY adorable.But seriously, ANOTHER Omi?!?! I think one Omi is quite enough.Anyways, moving on, Shadow...and Chase.....ugh.I'm not a fangirl of Chase, but I am a fan that is a girl...but...seriously.The whole Chase and Shadow thing may be a bit "Adam and Eve"ish, but he still CREATED HER!! He can still be her Father! I mean, sure, I was a part of my dad and I was born in a more NORMAL fashion, but that still doesn't give me the excuse to have a romantic relationship with him! Ew! Just the thought makes me wanna hurl!
Yes, it was really a disappointment, vut, I'm still giving it a chance anyways.

I was a little unsure about the voices at first, I mean I loved Jacks old one but this one works just as well. As for Dojo meh, The thing is they did have to change a lot of stuff due to copyright from the other seasons and I wish they didn't change the names of the Shen gong wu as every time I watch it i'm like " Damn thats not its name!"
I agree with the Chase and Shadow...he made her and so when they were talking about ruling together and the way they take to each other..it's reather weird and very incest. It would have been better if he had created her not from himself but just with the use of spells so they have no blood relation at all. I'm also not a fan of the CGI I think it makes it look cheap.

I don't mind Xiaolin Chronicles, I mean some of the art is good but the LINES! Oh my gosh, some of the lines they have the characters say in that show is just so plain stupid! And the new wu names are stupid too! The old ones I understand the change because when this show came back I think WB or whatever company that had it had copyrighted a lot of the stuff on there so yeah they had to change a lot of it like the clothes and some of the looks on the characters, and of course the voice actors (Except Omi, thank goodness), but the wuu names are just so...dumb...kjdkfjsdkjdskl xC Though I do like Chase's new voice actor but I really don't get why Shadow flirts with Chase if he created her, I don't get that xP
But I am willing to give the show a chance, I mean some of it is still good, (THE COLORS PURTY COLORS) as long as they don't bonk up any more of it...which I'm sure they will

the only reason stuff was changed was because WB's owned the original rights including the names of the original shen gong wu. and since Canada owns it now only Canadian voice actors can do it. which is why omi's the only one that stayed the same. Christy wu even said she wished she could had kept the original voice actors

Xiaolin Chronicles seriously ticks me off with the whole Chase and Shadow thing. It's weird having Chase and Shadow flirt with each other and just ignore the fact that Chase is practically Shadow's father. I'm just waiting until Shadow grows stronger than Chase and betrays him, leaving him hurt. It's just incest for them to be together, in my opinion. I understand where the whole "Shadow being born from Chase's rib" concept comes from though, it's like the Adam and Eve story. It just doesn't work for me though.
I really find Ping Pong super annoying, the Dragon of Wood? That's not even remotely correct! At least let him be the Dragon of Nature, the entire title is idiotic. I'm still willing to give Xiaolin Chronicles a chance though...
Love the picture! c: The designs I can live with in Xiaolin Chronicles, the characters.... Not so much... Shadow and Ping Pong are just seriously making me rethink the entire series.

While I agree on most of those points Wood is one of the 5 Chinese element's along with Fire,water,earth,and metal there is also a 6th element called Ku which is a element of pure spiritual balance and energy.

I just hope it gets better, it's sad to see so many disappointed Xiaolin Showdown fans. We all were so anxious for more, and not that more just... sucks.

I don't mind Xiaolin Chronicles, but it's not as funny or as interesting as Xiaolin Showdown. I do miss Master Fung being in it and Dojo flying them around. All the clothes are cool, but most of their new looks just don't suit them. I don't mind the new voice actors, but I still preferred the original and what about Rai being leader? He so deserved it. I also hate the 3D showdowns, they just look weird. It's not that I'm not happy with Xiaolin Showdown coming back, I just miss the old show because it had more action and made me laugh.

I do not like the chronically designes. The cloths I could live with (barley) but the drawing style in completely different and the swapped a bunch of colors! And raymundo is back to red robe, what's up with that ,he was promoted to black robes! Plus Omi's ears are to big.

I kinda like the new characters, and the new designs are cool too, but it's so... parts are really gross, and I can handle one or two, but after the fourth it's really annoying. The characters have no personalities, except kimiko, who is now apparently the smartest, and the main character. They took all the other monks and made them background characters with only a few lines per episode, Jack is even more pathetic than before, and Chase lost his coolness. He really did.
Aside from that, they throw in a lot of stuff that makes zero sense, like the magic horse at the end of the sixth episode? Completely pointless, and fairly stupid. It definitely has some good parts, like the robochef was pretty funny, but if I didn't love Xiaolin Showdown so much, no way would I keep watching Chronicles.

I'm not gonna lie...I dont like Chronicles at all.It took the little things that made the original funny and great to watch and amplified them hundredfold.Jack went from being pathetic to be horribly disgusting,the monks who had distinct personalities are now stereotypes and Chase went from being evily cool to just plain evil.Dont get me started on the new characters.

I dont like new characters including young girls that look like Kimiko cause i dislike her. Theres already one and two is way more than needed.
In my opinion they tarnished eveything that dealt with the actual show and made it lame. Jack and Chase are what made the show awesome and they ruined theri characters completely.
So *shrugs* I dont think i will end up watching this ....Its a shame.

Yeah, I understand that it can be hard to accept new characters, especially since fans still remember the original so well.
I don't think Kimiko's that bad, especially since she can hold her own ground. Willow, though, is a different story, mostly because she relied on "feminine charms" to get her way.
Well, Jack and Chase were great characters, yep. But the others also had many good qualities. I agree that Jack and Chase did change a lot , though, and that makes it hard to accept their new personalities.
I haven't been able to watch past episode 3, myself, but hey! Don't give up so quickly.

I tried to give the new series a chance, but found the changes too jarring to finish the first episode. The designs I could live with, but I really miss the old tone that gave the prior series it's appeal. Also I'm really not digging Ping-Pong and some of the plot changes that don't make sense from where I'm standing. Although I do like the idea of Xiolin Dragons inventing shen-gong-wu with each generation.

It does take a lot of time to get used to. I watched only the first 3, but I'm not sure if I'll watch more. A lot of things were changed, and not all of them necessarily things the fans want, I agree. It's more for the sake of drawing in new audiences who can just jump in, I think.

Yep, the name changes and all of that. Well, I guess it was revived for the sake of the fandom. No one really knows what'll happen to the plot until it really comes down to it and things have to be changed. Maybe that's what happened?

Watched the first few episodes, but still not sure how I feel about it. They changed a lot on the show, especially the character designs. The only thing that stayed the same in the entire series so far is Omi.
I do admit, the cgi xiaolin showdown is pretty cool. I'll have to see more before I decide if its good or not.
This new series reminds me of when they made that ben 10 alien force show. It's good, but definately no match for the original.

My main pet peeve about the Xiaolin Chronicles redesigns is that they apparently dropped Raimundo's leadership status. Say what you will about whether or not Rai deserved to be made team leader*, but he was clearly given the position in the series finale of Xiaolin Showdown, and yet looking at XC, it's as if NOBODY was officially chosen as leader, which was a big ripoff.
(*I personally think he did, mainly because Rai matured the most as a character compared to the others, going from a lazy slacker who could be swayed to the Heylin side to a capable fighter who worked well with the rest of the group.)

Chase's character seemed to change a lot. I don't know why he's going after wu now when it always seemed below him to do it. The humor from Jack's blunders isn't so apparent now. I agree with you on his design.

I dunno, maybe he went after the wu when Willow did just to make it look as if she would be a very valuable ally? Since she was able to defeat the "all powerful immortal dragonlord."
