I don't think that's something really needed. Everyone has their own headcanons on characters, I know many people who likes and hates GK as a female. I am fine that the franchsie have let us decide on some characters, it make it more interesting

I must say that is true. The bad thing is that I haven't found someone that uses it well. For what I have seen of it, is just used as an excuse to pair it with Meta Knight, and not be yaoi.

Hmm, maybe. I do pair her with MK. But that's not the reason of why I liked the idea for GK being a female. I have a headcanon that she is hiding it Β from everyone else to became a knight (As maybe females don't get the "knight" title), giving her a way better reason to keep her armor and mask all the time. A better than the poor excuse that MK have to keep his mask in all the time.
