Twilight Sparkle is the pony that brought her friends together, and magic is the spark that joined them all...Here it is, the finale of my element series, and probably my favorite to draw and the one that I thought turned out the best. It's been a rather long process of drawing Rainbow Dash at the spur of the moment, then realizing that it wouldn't be complete without doing all the other Elements of Harmony, coming up with inspiration, and overall just putting pieces off (procrastination accounted for most of the delay
)When I think of Twilight Sparkle I think of all the raw magical power she has within her, and her immense magical prowess to wield that elemental energy. Naturally, sparks and energy got me thinking of electricity and lightning, and since magic is the Element that brought all of the Elements to life again I figured magic would be connected to the others through elemental lightning from the other ponies' Elements. Pinkie's elemental Laughter lightning is wild and unpredictable, Rarity's Generosity has its own flair to it, Fluttershy's Kindness is gentle and tamed, Applejack's Honesty is strong and rarely strays from its path while Rainbow's Loyalty is fierce and powerful. Can you guess which one in the picture corresponds to which?

I'm not sure what art project to tackle next, but I'm trying to finish up the pony projects so I can move on to other things, like sci-fi stuff, and a Halloween costume.

Actually the electricity was the easiest part of this. I've always found getting the shading right on Twilight's mane and body has been the hardest part of drawing Twilight in the first place.

O rly? Lol well I know shading n' gradiants can be a pain in the ass. It's cool that that you found the electricity easy cos I'd probably be stumped

I've been working with mechanical and colored pencils long enough that I can usually figure out how to make good looking gradients and shadows. I used to do straight black and white pencil drawings with shadows, highlights and everything before I decided I needed a little color. Now gradients and electricity in the digital realm? That would stump me. I'm slowly learning how to create good looking effects in GIMP, but its a slow process
