Description
This is Pion, the younger cousin of Kaon and part of the universe Cosmos and Rema 0 hang out in.Her species special ops teams use small backpack sized warp travel devices that allow them to teleport short distances. The long red battery ribbons suck up power as they travel through the energy laden sub dimension, recharging everything for their next jump. One of the side effects of the technique is purple warp burns that build up on their extremities.
In contrast to her older cousin, Pion has a bit of an attitude problem and is easily provoked, especially when she feels she can show off. She relies more on furious hand to hand and basic weapon usage than the specialised gadgets the majority of her team members use.
Art wise, I sketched it in ballpoint while waiting around at work late one night, and celebrated my stuff arriving from storage by attacking it with markers. I'm considering the result semi good
Plenty of places where things could be improved, the hair and right arm in particular, but overall it feels good to have some colour art to put to this character.Media used : ballpoint on paper, Copic markers

Thankyou! But there really isn't much of a trick to it, I tend to approach CG and, uh, non CG much the same way.
The challange seems to be getting used to how markers behave when they're wet and working in small controlled patches. (the 'background' is an example of failing to observe this principle u_u)

The purple looks nothing like that. Why is it irregular like that, and none on her ears or thighs?

Ah sorry, didn't fully explain in the description because I thought I was getting wordy.
The burns build up on the parts that pierce the warp, which for most people is their arms (held out in front, almost like they're diving in) although some characters have burns in other places (legs, face etc) depending on their technique.
The burns have a tendency to form spiral patterns due to the turbulent nature of the warp.
