Well hello, love dearest
Did I ever tell you
That I might have thought of you
I think it was yesterday
When I went to my old room
It seemed so empty
I guess I had nothing else to do

I looked around the room
Nobody had been there for ages
The walls were filled with marks
Where your paintings used to be
They seemed so empty
The walls seem to miss you

Then, I sat down
and stared at the air
it reeked of poison and
contaminated by solitude
And while I was being choked
I think I thought of you

Then I got up
and walked to the closet
Opened it and watched
As skeletons fell out.
They smelled like sorrow
Maybe that’s when I thought of you.

The lights were flickering
And the spiders were happy
The cake in the middle
was covered in cobwebs
and the table underneath
was slowly rotting.
I think the spiders missed you.

Do you remember our diary
Where we kept all our letters?
I found it too, it had turned yellow
Maybe the mosquitoes gave it the fever.

Well, I opened the last page.
Don’t you think it’s amazing
How it said ‘three years ago’
I turned to the first page
And read what you had written

I read what you wrote:
“that I was good with fake smiles
And bad with close friends
I had a bad sense of humor
Did you say dry, or was it wry?
I could see things
that nobody can
An imaginary child.”

I closed the book
And put it aside
Then in the corner I saw
The shadows dancing
And that’s when I saw you.

I’ve forgotten you
Why don’t you leave me?
I’ve burned all of the bridges
Why does your shadow chase me?
