You know: a major part of me likes to think Destoroyah always was as we've seen him since the time of the Alpha-Predators. Like he used to BE one of them, albeit for the purpose of ending life with his unnatural abilities. But when all the radiation on the earth disappeared, he lost his strength, and devolved into the micro-creatures we've seen him as. Then, when the OD, and Micro-oxygen hit, it gave him back the ability to take physical form. All he needed was some radiation to return to his TRUE form. ......Eheheh, sorry

Well, it has been said that he's ancient: going as far back as the Precambrian era. Who's to say he wasn't made what he is during Gojira2014's era through the radiation riddling the earth? That would make him an interesting foil to Godzilla in a similar light to Doomsday, and Superman.
