So… these characters are based on objects from two different stories. A cup and a candlestick to be specific…

The cat with the dress is Wilbert, a paper cup with a dress from a story I wrote as a kid. Initially the main characters find Wilbert on the streets filled with “street water” ( that’s actually what they call it in the story lmao) one of the main characters takes the cup and dubs it “Wilbert”. Wilbert gets his silly dress a bit later on. Wilbert wasn’t that relevant, one of the characters kinda just had him around as his best friend. It was very wholesome until some kids threw Wilbert in the trash. ( rip Wilbert )

The candlestick is from a rp completely unrelated to the story I wrote with Wilbert. Initially the candlestick was used by Holfejjea, the candlestick never canonly got the bow tie lol. Giving the candlestick a bow tie was briefly mentioned in the message as an example of how putting a bow tie on anything makes it look a million times better. So I drew it as a joke for meme arts, and at that point I realized that Wilbert and the candlestick are soulmates. Oh also the bow tie Candlestick is wearing is Holfejjea’s bow tie so, that’s a thought. (she’ll kill him over it lol)

So yeah.. this whole fully rendered piece is a joke about two inanimate objects being soulmates. :,) I’m so smart.

Gonna be real with you here, the only reason I drew this was because I really wanted to do some cute ship art but didn’t know which characters to do it with. :,) I felt like doing something like that with any of my characters might’ve been spoilers so I just chose… two.. inanimate objects. ( 100 IQ play, I know )
