So blame for getting me to play Left 4 Dead 2. Let me just say- It is SUPER fun. And as usual, with new things my brain starts stirring with ideas. Too many ideas. But this idea stood out a midst the rest of them. And after a short thought I decided to go ahead and put these characters in the L4D2 universe.

Meet Oz - A special infected who is a little more special than the rest. Given the name "Oz The Odd Zombie" by his young companion, he is a Smoker who finds little interest in chasing after people to eat them. He would rather stand on some roof top staring off into space than trying to kill someone. He remembers very little from his life as a human, but there are two things he does remember- Cigarettes and Chocolate. Two things that Fred carries a lot of. It is unclear why he follows the little girl around- maybe it's for her chocolate; but he will protect her with his un-life.
He communicates with Fred through grunts and moans and tries his best to be the best human that she wants him to be. He lets her put flowers in his hair, choose his clothes, bandage him up- he puts up with a lot.

Meet Winifred (Fred) - a young girl with a very positive outlook on life. She lives in the moment, with only one plan: to live with her new best friend, Oz. She discovered the strange Smoker when her parents were killed by a horde- leaving her alone on a roof. She expected none other than death when the Smoker found her, but instead he just shuffled past. Curious, she followed the zombie and they have been together ever since. Now she lives by the day, doing pretty much whatever she wants in her abandoned city. And because she doesn't want Oz to die, she avoid other humans as much as she can, as they will never understand his condition. She refuses to believe that Oz is actually dead- saying that the infection is in his skin and not his mind. And that may be true, who knows.

Yup, there they are. Adorable little girl and her monster friend. What's not to love?
