By the request of my lovely patron TheLegacyOfK41Z3R I decided to make a tutorial on how to paint metal! This may be part of a series of how to paint different materials.

What sort of materials do you find exceptionally challenging to paint or draw?

This tutorial is made available by supporting my patreon!
For a step by step written tutorial on how to paint metal please support my patreon !

I'm only 3 sign ups away from opening up a new Pinup Tier and adding paint over critiques to the tutorial tier. Every dollar counts, angels! There's only three more days to sign up if you'd like to see those rewards added before the end of the month!

Request Project: StarcallIt's a call to all artists...
CREATE. GIVE. INSPIRE.
STARCALL: What is it?
Starcall is my ongoing request project. I wanted it to be more than just open requests. I wanted it to have a name, to feel real, to feel tangible. I want it to be a project that I can extend to the rest of the artists here in hopes to bring more attention and life to our generous community. With the unbelievable success of Junequest, and the loads of amazing creative and inspiring requests that I received, I'm on a mission to just keep on giving.
There are tons and tons of people out there who would love artwork, but simply can't afford it. This is not to say that artists should not be paid for their work, or that anyone has permission to demand artwork for themselves without giving anything in return. However, I encourage the act of giving and spreading endless kindness.

Hype af! I can't wait to see this, it'll be one of the feats I need for a lot of my character design. I agree with you and Panartias, gold is very difficult to differentiate with yellow and brown. Silver is also annoyingly hard to seperate from being percieved as steel. I guess a lot of things are difficult to draw when they come under the same category such as alloy. I'll save this armour design for when this is released.

Well metal is certainly challenging. I found silver always most difficult - more the gold or steel!

I think I still have a bit of trouble with gold sometimes! I can't put my finger on what it is that gets me frustrated! Haha.

The last gold jewelry you did for your sketch of Shol'ashys looked absolutly fine - and that was only a sketch!
