I take a base image, and then begins a great procession of photos I'll try to use to make textures that fit the mood of the picture. It's a long and hard process in which i create several layers with these images that I erase or enhance in particular spots to keep the subject intact without revealing too much, just what I want. I have an extensive pool of own photograph that I accumulated over the years to use as textures, and they serve multiple purposes, like colors, lights or backgrounds. Then I usually enhance the colors meticulously with, again, several layers of settings in my good old, beloved photoshop. It's more "trial and errors" than anything, all very inspired by the music I listen to at the moment. Of course, the base picture is very important, and not all of them would work with that technique, so I've got to be extra-careful when I shoot to have at least one that will be great for that particular purpose.
