Description "What the hell are they doing?"

After dispelling yet another alien invasion, the Earth was once again able to have a moment of peace. As always though, there was a terrible sense of unease spreading among humanity and kaiju alike. Where would the next threat come from? Will we be able to stop it? Questions like this burned at the back of everyone's minds. Questions like this fueled change. With Vanguard Alpha currently out of commission, humanity was back to being unable to assist in defending their planet. They needed another solution; another weapon.

So when deep earth scans picked up on a power source deep within the Earth, deeper than they've ever explored, a rogue faction in the military decided to take matters into their own hands. They began their own expedition into the tunnels beneath the Inner Earth in a bid to find and harness this power. When their plans were discovered, all hands were on deck to seek them out and detain them. Viju was chosen to lead them again, as his innate knowledge of the world below would allow them to navigate the tunnels more quickly, allowing them to catch up to the rogue agents before they could cause any harm.

What they would discover down there was more terrifying than anything they had ever faced...

Once they reached the tunnels below the Inner Earth, Viju took care to ensure they wouldn't run afoul of Myrathrax and her brood, after all, he didn't want a repeat of their last adventure down here. The small kaiju thus lead them cautiously. He had picked up the military group's trail some ways back and had been tracking it the best he could, but it was getting more and more difficult to parse it as they delved ever deeper into the winding labyrinth. Eventually though, they came to a darkened tunnel that lead down...way down. It was here that Viju froze. The team asked him what was wrong, but he stood silent. After some time, he finally responded in a soft whisper that something horrible was down there. Something that sent a deep, instinctual fear crashing through every cell of his body, even more so than Plagaris.

It took some time, but the team convinced him they needed to descend. They reasoned that if whatever was down there was so horrible, the rogue agents could not be allowed to find it. Viju relented and lead them down. They wouldn't admit it, but now they were beyond frightened as well. If whatever was down there was truly that terrible, it could not be allowed to leave.

After what seemed like hours, the team finally reached the bottom of the tunnel. When they went through the exit, they were amazed to see that they were now in tunnels more colossal than any they had previously encountered. In here, even Viju seemed like an ant. Before them was a truly massive wall of rock that seemed to be made of a different material than the rest of the tunnel. Looking towards it caused everyone to shiver. Viju promptly turned away and began hurriedly trudging onward, desperate to get this over with. It was then that everyone noticed a subtle, ever present humming. It seemed to be coming from every direction, yet seeming grew louder as they marched on.

Eventually, they reached a point where the humming had become more of a screech. Before they could parse what this meant, they were attacked by a number of large, bat like creatures. After a short scuffle, a number of the creatures lay dead, with the rest retreating up towards the cavern's ceiling. It was there that Viju noticed the source. A much larger member of the species stood atop an outcropping and seemed to have its attention fully directed towards the opposing wall. Viju noted that the creature's noise was also directed towards this wall and further noted that whatever they were hearing was not the full effect of this sound. The curious kaiju tried to reach out to the larger kaiju, but it seemed to not notice his mental communication.

The team asked if he knew what was happening. He said he didn't, although something about this felt familiar. He felt that there were more of these creatures doing the same thing, but he couldn't tell why. Before they could further follow this line of thought, a loud explosion echoed from deeper within the tunnel...
