Description "The TERROR that split a man in two... half human, half monster!"

Up next is 1959's The Manster! So this one I wasn't one hundred sure of how I was going to adapt it, as originally I was thinking of maybe going more grotesque in the mutations a la the Brain That Wouldn't Die. However I found a screenshot that showed a much more ape-like creature. I'm not sure if this was the Manster or not, as plot summaries indicate a few different experiments, but I decided this would be my inspiration moving forward. Following this train of thought, I also decided to rewrite the plot as well, with the Manster being a revived and mutated ancestor of humans rather than a mutated man.

With that more primeval take being the driving force, I tried to find a nice, monstrous middle-ground between man and ape. It felt very old school, with some of those older depictions of Neanderthals as brutal, almost monstrous equivalents to homo sapiens. I, of course, couldn't leave out that unsettling second head, which reminded me of a shrunken monkey head, further adding to the direction I decided upon. This made it feel more like a science experiment gone wrong as well, like the experiment that brought it back mutated him or that perhaps he was already mutated. However, as a potential addition to Arynia, none of that would be applicable in that case. Instead, it would be known as a Trog, a breed of ape-like creatures which commonly practice interbreeding and are extremely aggressive and violent. I considered a few of my other fantasy worlds as well, but their brutality and overall design fit more with Arynia in the end.
