Description "Slowly...and with horror the parents realized THEIR CHILDREN WERE THE SLAVES OF 'THE THING' FROM OUTER SPACE!"

For our next stop, we arrive at 1958's The Space Children! So this was one of the few movies here that I had just never heard of before creating this list, which doesn't happen often. When I looked up reference of the creature I was rather disappointed to see...well, essentially a rock with some brain folds. I knew I didn't want to just make a rock, or a brain, or a rock brain so I took to Pinterest for inspiration on where to take the design. I eventually found a number of strange little aliens that piqued my interest, as well as some jellyfish. But one in particular reminded me of an incredible creature design that helped pushed the design so much further. That creature was Jean Jacket, from Nope.

With that leading my inspiration board, I had a perfect route to follow. I gave the alien a jellyfish like body, with a number of similarly inspired tentacles. From there, I tried to capture something similar to Jean Jacket's unique shapes and folds for the alien's mantle. I even figured the creature's original design could kind of be worked in, as the alien could sort of fold itself up to look like a much more unassuming shape before unveiling its true form. It all meshed together super well in my opinion and resulted in another one of my favorite designs! I have two potential universes for this design to fit in, as it could either be a space dwelling species the Krhashatha mythos or a very alien looking Jellyfish in TriZen's Leviathan Zone. Both adaptations would completely lose the plot however.
