Description I swear by (Toph)God, everything written in the text boxes is taken STRAIGHT (word-for-word, verbatim, etc.) from my kanji instruction manual. It's supposed to explain how kanji evolved over however many thousands of years after arriving in Japan from China. A lot of them (so far) either deal with religion, death/killing, or body parts in some way, shape, or form.

I think it's funny as hell; and interesting, because a lot of the Chinese/Korean/Japanese students I talk to don't know the history behind the kanji they learned by rote from about age 3, but every once and a while, the explanation makes me go: " WHISKEY-TANGO-FOXTROT-OSCAR?!?! "

me either, my brain no worky with stick scribbles that look too much alike, but nothing like the should represent. ....."this symbol (that looks like the other three arches with squiggles), means something totally different than each of the other three, and is pronounced totally different. you misprounced the word, prepare for hot needle under finger nails!" that's okay, i'll sit in the corner reading the books a bit more and pop in when the scarey needle lady is gone. she teaches the class you say? oh well, see you around.

nope, i would retailiate flog them in return. i don't think i would've done well in the japanese school system. i would just've been beaten constantly til i snapped and whooped the teachers.

i laughed but wasnt really surprised, i mean what can you expect from a place like japan, i mean a place with a plethora of incongrous , miscellaneus nicknacks that range from something as inspiring as sasuke, down to some of the most cruel gameshows and hidden camera pranks in the entire f*cking world and known colonies (predictable joke).
and ehh, i mean also a place where writers live of as wanking of the same stories over and over and over agayn , as you always see the same effing japanese mythology critters in every effing manga, except some that actually respect themselves (hajime no ippo like a mothafucka!!!!!!!!!1111).
conclusion, its eally disturbing but so is chinese water torture, the brassen bull, crush to death etc etc and so forth
(madre santisima se me quiere caer la santa mano despues de toda la incoherencia)

We talked a bit about Kanji in my history of design class and in my book for the class they showed the evolution of how a pictograph of a cooking pot transformed through laziness (yes, that's the best way to describe it) into the symbol for the word it meant today. It was incredibly interesting as is this. It offers a window into the world of those who came before us.
