When I was drawing rectangular bits I was probably thinking they were made out of something hard like ivory. I think everything in her hair was inspired by different types of kanzashi (the rectangles were probably supposed to be something similar to kogai ^^). I don't really remember (sorry! I drew this a few months ago ), but now that you mention it, the rectangles do look a lot like paper (I think the flower in the middle was metal, but now that I look at it, maybe it should be fabric...? And then the kushi in the back would probably be lacquer?)

I'm sorry that I don't really have an answer , but if you decide to color her, I think making them ribbons or paper would look great (probably the least helpful answer I could've given Sorry! m(   )m but I really do hope you color her )

Thanks,i was planning on trying to color her yes,thats why i wanted to know excactly what it was so i could decide on the colors i would give her.Will probably take me a while but i will let you know when im finished and have uploaded it to my gallery. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question!
