Description Outcrops of Cambrian Era Limestones from the ancient Ocean floor could be seen next to the road, on the way to White Mountain. The white streaks looked like crushed shells packed tight.

Sed Basalt? I donno... Basalt tends to weather rapidly. The shell patterns would be layered if it were a sediment. I just don't see any bedding or features what would indicate this is a sedimentary rock. Did you do an acid test? looks like it could be a limestone which would explain the white streaks, which are most likely calcium carbonate veins

Thanks for the correction. I guess I got confused during the lecture...it is limestone, but also thick sedimentary beds extremely folded. We were looking for trilobites, which we have found before, but not this time.
