Description I visited this southeastern part of Mono Lake last April (2010) I was so happy to see it again in September. It did look a lot different after a long hot summer. Not the tufa towers, but the waters, plants and animal life surrounding them.

This is dried algae left hanging on the skelton of a sagebrush, both casualties of drought. Looks like an eerie sculpture, huh?
