I was reading this article [link] about America-China relations. In it, some people (on both sides) are predicting America-China tensions escalating to skirmishes. One of the sources quoted even said he believes that the nuclear deterrent is what will keep things from escalating to warfare. I hope that's not true. I'd like to believe that both we Americans and the Chinese People are better than that. I'd like to think that with respect on both sides we can achieve a balance that benefits everyone.
