Description

“This piece was inspired by Claude Debussy’s music named “ Prelude to the Afternoon of a faun” in where, depicted on the artwork is a half-man and half-goat waking up from his slumber, or so he thought, in which he was met by two beautiful nymphs. I made the two nymphs faceless for in most dreams, faces of people are often blurry and not discernible. And in this painting, the faun was not sure if what he was seeing is real or not, but it did not stop him in being playful and suggestive with the two beautiful creatures as they circled around him. The music was free and sensuous, that is why I made the nymphs look care-free as they circled around the faun, and also making the faun reach out to the other nymph for he was entranced by their beauty and would like to get close to them. And bathe with the afternoon glow of the sun, that starts the prelude of the afternoon of the faun.”
