You know it's illegal to sell your fanart right? It's a thing called "Copyright infringement". You can't legally make money off of fanart or the company that owns the rights to the character can legally sue you.

Whilst that is true, 90% of companies simply don't have the time to take people like myself to court, they really don't care, if I were to mass produce something to do with League of Legends and sell it for a huge amount of profit all over the world, they may take note. If I'm selling a few digital pieces of artwork, it's no harm to them.Β
I have spoken to people at Riot about their policy on fanart and people selling/creating it, and they completely embrace it. Again, if it were mass-produced for tonnes of profit and passed off as official Riot merchandise then they'd have a problem with it. This is fanart, labelled as such, nowhere do I say I work for Riot and neither do I say I am in any way affiliated with them.

Basically, just because they CAN doesnt mean they WILL. If they DID, there would be NO unofficial fanart and games/movies/comics/tv wouldn't do NEARLY as well.
In short, yes I've heard of copyright infringement, yes i know what it is... so please, educate yourself before you attempt to educate me.
