Someone posting that 'Closer' video on FB reminded me to start this XD.
2b mechanical pencil, 6b derwent pencil, kneaded eraser.
A4 -21x30cm (8x12in)
Probably 9 hours.

The lack of color in the work sets a certain mood, one that fits the character and allows for a better profile of the character himself.
All of the features of a true Vulcan are certainly in place and all but the mouth--which is slightly diminutive--are of appropriate size. The eyes, as they should, if one knew Spock's persona well, call for a certain respect and air of maturity when gazed into.
Finally, the shading is excellent, a telltale sign an artist has perfected his work. The light source is accounted for, and sets the face in a half-shadow, bringing on a slight dramatic aura.
Ultimately, the work was a success, deserving of Daily Deviant recognition and quite a few llamas!
