Thank you so so much for the critique!! <3
I always have trouble with posing, especially in these two unfamiliar species (No clue about chicken anatomy or valhund/short legged, small dog breeds) and it was amplified this time due to lack of practice. Definitely agree with you about the stiffness there.
Thanks again! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out!

Well first off Syph, this is really so prettu, i absolutely love how you do fur, i really really do. And the characters are adorable, and the way that you've used those subtle blues and purples to shade the white area is just amazing.
I cant remember the characters names, and I don't want to click away so i'm just going to referr to them rather rudely as the dog and the bird. My apologies to their creator!
The two things that bother me the most in this, are firstly, the sixe of the dogs head, which appears just way too large for its body. This is partly caused by the way the wing overlaps the body, but i also think that its just too large.
Secondly, you need to be carefull of your character placement. Their feet positions indicate that the bird is in front of the dog, but the dogs head overlaps the bird. Now while I've been learning about how this is totally legit in early renaissance art, I'm not quite sure thats the effect that you're going for e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="454" title="Wink/Razz"/> Remember to watch those feet, they're what are placing your characters in space.
Finally, the actual legs themselves are a bit problematic in terms of their angles and placing. The dogs back legs, I cant tell if the far one is on the ground or just in the air. If its on the ground then theres no weight on it and its at the wrong angle, but if its in the air, then it looks very stuff, and its other leg seems to be at the wrong angle to bear weight. its a similar situation with birds back leg. Its a cute pose, but the leg looks very stiff. It almost looks as though if you rotate the image 90 degrees the bird could be standing on the floor. Try and relax it a little. Don't give it such a stiff posture, remember the toes can bend in a little, there isnt a floor pushing them out.
Other than that, it looks really great, i simply adore how you shade things I really do. And I know that you're just going to keep improving e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

Eee thank you so much for the critique Ama!!! <33
Firstly, I was checking up on valhund anatomy (being very unfamiliar with small dog breeds..) and their heads are actually really large in comparison to the body, really emphasized by their short necks and tiny legs.
As for the second point, now that you tell me it's like opening a whole new door. I didn't think about that! But thank you so much for pointing it out, I'll definitely try being more careful with feet/limb placement in future c:
And lastly, completely agree with you there. Bleh I always have a tough time trying to pose things, I always find my poses look too stiff and rigid. Guess I really need to work on relaxing and flexing things around a bit.
Again, thank you so so much Ama! I really appreciate you taking the time to give me some good solid critique, it really helps out a lot <3

I like! Such good fur definition too -although I have to admit the head size and wing placement of Waiitiz is bothering me a little....I think the lineless approach is good. For example, on Hönkeln's right wing - without the lines the feather definition looks, idk, better.
