Description

This is a redline for ~Zakorite , you can find their original artwork right here:

I don't actually think the sketch needed much redlining, only some minor touchups to the some parts of the skeleton (it may look like a lot of changes but it's actually not once you break it down!)

To summarise some of the main points that I didn't quite cover in detail:
- Make sure the ribcage does NOT stick out, otherwise it would look very unnatural and also unbalance/hinder the walking of the dragon
- Pay close attention to how the skeleton works, you're doing a good job with this already so just keep up the great work! c:
- Modelling certain areas of the body (such as legs and wings) really helps get anatomy right. For example, I modeled the back legs to those of a raptor (for claws and muscles), and the wing hand and bones in the wings with those of a human and a bat!
- Wings work very much like a human hand! Just try to imagine your own hand folding in like the pose you're trying to draw (I actually do this all the time)

The rest of the little explanations are written in my terrible handwriting in dark blue c: (If you can't read them because of my handwriting feel free to ask and I'll type them out for you!)

Hope you find this helpful Zakorite! Your sketch was really good to begin with, just a few pointers but you're going great!

When redlining a dragon such as this I would try to avoid making anatomical flight based changes/notes as they are widely debatable. The ones inculded here are incorrect for a flying creature for example.
Also as a note, when I redline I try not to make changes to the actual design unless requested, such as the addition of the dew claw. Try and stick to the original design! Other than that, very nice!

awesome! Thank you so much! I'll keep those tips in mind when I start working on this again. And I can read the handwriting just fine

Again thank you so much! This will definitely help!!

nice syph, I'm going to have to ask you to do a reline for me sometime. Yours are always so informative!

Can I just ask why the chest shouldn't stick out? I know it doesn't in some animals, but sort of does a teeny tiny bit in others (eg: horses, dogs etc)

There is actually no reason, the chest design from animal to animal will differ with purpose and muscle attachments. It probably shouldnt have been included/corrected unless a base animal was stated.

Cool, I thought that might be the case. Thanks
