Painter X
I love you, Painter X. This one was mostly done with the Oil Pastel tool. I used the Shattered and Squeegee tools on the background.

Alrighty so, this one is for a contest at Velocity Comics; 'Draw Watchmen!' But I like being different, so I used my self-guide to come up with something eye catching. And bizarre. I blame TA.

Liz's self-guide to making fan art:

1) If you've a cast/multiple characters to choose from, don't go with the most popular. Because that's what most everyone else will do. Your work will stand out more this way.

2) Come up with a unique way of portraying your subjects. How is such-and-such normally portrayed? We don't need yet another fan art of X badass standing around looking ... badass.

3) Draw in your own style, or a partial hybrid of. Some of the best fan art I've ever seen has been in the artist's native style; not in the style of its souce.
