Description Edit: Reshiram's details got fixed lately (5th October 2010). [link]

----------------------------

I am gone nuts.

Okay, now you see what happens when random inspiration strikes without mercy. Something I do not do is to make a huge plushie out of a character which is just a few days old (or released only few days ago)...but I do unexpected so here's a nice little legendary whatever pokémon. I kinda like it. And now I have to. I don't want get bored to plushie which took helluva lot of work.

It has some iron wire inside so I can place its wings/arms differently...and pupils are movable inside plastic cover so whole critter can be nicely expressional.

¤ Measures: 100 cm from nose to tailtip, wingspan 90 cm.
¤ Materials: white polar fleece, little bit black fleece, thick white satin, some hundred meters of white thread, plastic eyes (+ turquoise acrylic paint), plastic foam, stuffing, strong iron wire and wicked inspiration
¤ Time: 20+ hours

Only shipping fees would make price less reasonable...

Gamer-Boy In reply to Sysirauta [2011-05-02 18:56:32 +0000 UTC]

oh right...well I would still buy it if its less than 100$USD so yup...

Sysirauta In reply to Gamer-Boy [2011-05-04 20:35:14 +0000 UTC]

100$ would cover the shipping of this big plushie. Monster itself would cost more.

I can't due to life busyness, but I recommend to take contact my friend ~Gomis if you want a huge custom Reshiram plushie. Gomis makes custom plushies in many sizes and moderate prices.

Galahawk [2010-07-18 19:01:14 +0000 UTC]

The only thing I would have suggested is that anyone making plushes out of either would have waited until all the anatomy details were revealed. Reshiram has twin manes and crests rather than just one, I've recently found out. X_X

Regardless, it's a gorgeous plush. I would have never had the patience to work on something this complex, let alone FINISH it. :3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sysirauta In reply to Galahawk [2010-07-19 17:08:49 +0000 UTC]

I've known that since the official battle sprite was released (it's visible there, just look carefully...zooming helps too). Plushie was lucky it was 120 kilometers away from me at that moment or I'd have made surgery operation straight away. Now I'm fine with that (not good to touch finished work). I know also really well that never make a plushie without all good refs, but do you know inspiration is cruel and doesn't let you be before you've done what it says? xp
...
Anyways, detail fails are annoying but best way to fix it is to make another one with correct details. |3 (No, I don't have patience, I just have wicked inspiration and will to get something with correct details...)

Galahawk In reply to Sysirauta [2010-07-19 17:43:21 +0000 UTC]

Good work on the other one, may I add. :0

Heh, surgery. Yeah I remember the days when I had my mom do that.
Right now I'm having to keep myself from cutting my Latios plush's back open to stuff in a squeaker. (because squeaking sound effects make him that much cuter)

Sysirauta In reply to Galahawk [2010-07-19 21:16:39 +0000 UTC]

I had a quacking duck which needed countless operations...first to get hard quacking block out of it when it broke and lately anything to get it stay in one piece (my favourite plushie from age 1 to 12 - it is tough life for a little plushie). Here: [link] Same plushie, left one is authentic one and right one is exactly same plushie I found a couple of years ago from local flea market (luck!). Guess which one was more loved... |D

Like Gomis you begin to make those awesome bigger plushies too! And even with an improvement that is just… wow ._o” Gosh. I´m somewhat jealous. I can’t understand how it works to make those things THAT well that they look like industry productions |D Reshiram looks just 100% reshiramish <3 It is big, white, there are no big seam -mistakes, has all its details and is somewhat moveable. Just lovely <3
…It is pretty but I think you should hide it when there are any visitors. You know… common adults do not know all Pokémon. And that fur is still strange. I bet they´d ask something xP” (I wonder if industries will sell it like this anyway. Parents won´t be amused about fur spikes on that place x´D)

Sysirauta In reply to Royal-Manda [2010-06-09 09:17:17 +0000 UTC]

I don't know how Gomis makes them, but lemme tell how I make a random plushie...I make a really ugly sketch where are all parts somewhat thought...and then draw something on 30-year old paper to make patters and cut them and them make textile parts (sometimes I make patters before starting to sew, but now I made a pattern, cut textile and sew everything right away and made new part when needed). I doubt nobody else could get anything out of my patters (some of them do need seam margins and some not, this changes randomly) but I know my patterns and I think too much while making anything so I can get something out from chaos... xp
...I had to show this to my parents so they won't look it by themselves...I hold it strategically hiding everything necessary so they didn't ask anything. |D ... I actually wait to see how those official plushies are made...

Royal-Manda In reply to Sysirauta [2010-06-12 11:02:33 +0000 UTC]

And I thought my sketches would be crappy O_o"
It´s a wonder that you can make a plushie from that sketch ._o

Maybe my main problem is that I don´t know anything about patters. Neither how they are created, nor how to use them x) I should search for some tutorials maybe about those and try something easy at first… A Koromon or something like that ._o At least plushies are too nice to avoid giving it a try 8<

Harhar x) Good idea. Because fur can cause strange ideas to none-Poké-fans |D”
… I think at least the American industry will change something. Japanese… I don’t know 8>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sysirauta In reply to Royal-Manda [2010-06-12 11:33:39 +0000 UTC]

I know what I meant in that sketch. I didn't mean that anybody else could understand it. |3

Patterns...are templates from which the parts of (in this case) plushie are traced onto fabric before cutting out and assembling (sometimes called paper patterns). (Wikpedia modifying lol) ... I do them somewhat that I imagine how the character would look like in three-dimensional and try make parts which could make that...
And I prefer to try. You'll learn while doing them more. (...I know I don't have made too much plushies but this 3D-skill helps a lot.)

US dub probably censores Reshiram...or a part. xp It won't be any surprise...
